A simple transport box turned into a brand asset

Uniforest wanted to introduce a transport box to their portfolio. Rather than treating it as another accessory, we saw an opportunity to improve everyday work, strengthen the brand and create a product owners would be proud to have on their tractors. Unibox went on to become Uniforest's fastest-selling new product.

Opportunity

As Uniforest set out to expand its portfolio, the transport box became an opportunity to turn a utilitarian product into a tool for supporting forestry work and strengthening the brand.

Solution

A thoughtfully designed field support system that organizes equipment, improves access, and makes the tractor feel more complete.

Impact

Unibox became Uniforest's fastest-selling product, expanded beyond forestry into the broader agricultural market, and strengthened the visibility of the Uniforest brand.

“Our collaboration challenged us to look beyond technical performance and see new ways to create value. By understanding users more deeply, we developed solutions that improved the customer experience while strengthening the Uniforest brand.”

Transport boxes provide volume. We wanted to support the work.

Observing how forestry professionals use existing transport boxes revealed a common pattern: simple one-compartment boxes quickly become cluttered.

Rather than maximizing storage, we focused on optimizing it. Understanding how tools are used in the field revealed an opportunity to create a more organized support system.

A tractor should look better with it than without.

Research revealed that users take pride in how their tractors are equipped, while most solutions are just utilitarian boxes.

We saw an opportunity to set Uniforest apart by creating a product owners would genuinely want to display. Our winning aspiration was simple: the transport box should enhance the tractor, much like a spoiler enhances a sports car.

Designed for pride, not just utility

Rather than designing another transport box, we redefined its role. Unibox was conceived as a natural extension of the tractor, inspired by automotive design, tractor proportions, and Uniforest's established visual language. The result challenges the convention that transport boxes have to look like boxes, while making the product feel more desirable and intentional.

Its prominent front position turned the product into a highly visible brand surface in the field and on the road. Reflective graphics were introduced as both a functional safety feature and a distinctive design signature, later adopted across the wider Uniforest portfolio.

A support system, not just storage

By understanding how users organize, access, and maintain their equipment, we developed a three-tier storage system based on frequency and type of use. Larger tools, frequently used items, and secondary equipment each gained their own place, reducing clutter and making access more intuitive.

Configurable compartments allow users to adapt the box to their own workflow, while dedicated surfaces and storage zones support transport, quick access, maintenance, and preparation work directly in the field.
